Before You Ask
What's the difference between DTF and screen printing?
Screen printing pushes ink through screens, one screen per color, so it's built for larger runs with a set number of colors. DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are pressed on and handle unlimited colors and photo detail. For full-color images, or work where every piece is different, DTF is usually the better fit.
When does heat press beat screen printing?
When every piece in the run is different, or the artwork is photographic. Roster names and numbers, personalization and full-color detail all press better than they screen. For larger quantities of a simpler design, screen printing at 24 pieces usually costs less per piece, and we'll always point you to the option that makes sense.
Can you do names and numbers on team jerseys?
Absolutely. That's one of the most common heat press jobs we do. Send us your roster with names, numbers and sizes, and we'll press each one individually so every player gets the right shirt.
How long do heat transfers last?
Properly pressed and cared for, DTF and vinyl transfers hold up wash after wash without cracking or peeling. Wash inside out in cold water and skip the high-heat dryer and your gear will look great for a long time.
What file format do you need for artwork?
We work with AI, PSD, PDF, PNG and high-resolution JPG files. High-res artwork gives the best result for full-color transfers. Only have a rough idea or a photo? Bring it in and we'll help get it press-ready.
Do you source the garments?
Yes, and we prefer to. Sourcing the blanks ourselves is how we stand behind the finished piece, and it lets us match fabric to the decoration. Customer-supplied garments can be accepted with prior approval, an additional handling charge and limited liability on the pieces themselves.
