Custom Shirts and Apparel in Williams, AZ

Screen printing, custom embroidery and promotional products for the Route 66 and Grand Canyon gateway town, all made at our Beaver St shop in Flagstaff.

A Gateway Town That Orders Around the Calendar

Williams is a tourism town. The Grand Canyon Railway leaves the 1908 depot every day, Historic Route 66 is the main street, and Bill Williams Mountain stands over all of it. People arrive wanting something to take home, and the shops, hotels and attractions that serve them order apparel the way a farmer plants. Early, in volume, and tied to a date.

We are Mountain T's, a Flagstaff screen printing and embroidery shop that has been in business for 23 years. Tim and Sarah Hager own it. They bought it from the owner they used to order from as customers, so they know what it feels like to be on the buying side of a deadline.

What Williams Orders and When

The town has a few dates that shape every order.

Early JuneThe Historic Route 66 Car Show and its Cruise the Loop parade bring a crowd that buys shirts on the spot. Retail stock needs to be on the rack before that first weekend.
Late JuneThe Arizona Cowpunchers' Reunion Rodeo at the Williams Rodeo Grounds is a community event with volunteers, committees and a long history.
SeptemberWilliams Rendezvous Days at Buckskinner Park is a good reason to print staff and committee shirts a few weeks ahead.
Winter holidaysTrain rides for the holidays keep hotels and depot crews busy when the town is cold and snowy. Warm layers sell and staff need them.
School yearWilliams High School Vikings, black and orange, plus the elementary programs, need spirit wear and team gear on a school calendar.

How Far We Are and What That Means

The shop is in Flagstaff, about 32 to 34 miles east of Williams on I-40. From the shop, the drive to Williams is west on I-40, roughly 35 to 40 minutes. We do not have a Williams storefront and we will not pretend to.

Orders are made in Flagstaff and picked up free at 2 S Beaver St, or shipped by UPS Ground with the cost priced to your ZIP before you pay. Proofs travel by email, so a Williams owner who cannot leave a front counter in July never has to make the drive just to approve artwork.

How an Order Moves From Williams to the Press

  1. Tell Us the DateStart with the weekend or season the goods must be ready for. We work backward from there.
  2. Get Your QuoteWe price the garment, count and decoration. Artwork cleanup is quoted as its own line, priced by the job.
  3. Approve the ProofAfter the order is approved we email a production proof. Nothing runs until you sign off on it.
  4. Pick Up or ShipProduction runs about 10 to 12 business days, counted from your proof sign-off. Then you pick up free or we ship UPS Ground.

Williams Buyers We Hear From Most

  • Route 66 gift and souvenir shops
  • Hotels, motels and lodges
  • Restaurants, saloons and cafes
  • Wildlife parks and adventure attractions
  • Museums and historic sites
  • Williams Unified School District programs
  • Rodeo and car show committees
  • Tour operators and train-side businesses
  • Rec and community leagues

Planning Backward From Your Season

The mistake we see most often is ordering for the weekend you are already in. A souvenir run needs time for blanks to arrive, a proof to be signed, and production to finish. If the Car Show is the first weekend in June, count back from there, not from the week before.

Reorders are easier. Screens and embroidery files stay on file, so the second order of a shirt that sold well starts much further down the road than the first.
